Description
Third Way Center is seeking relief mental health counselors to work as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team at one of our residential facilities working with high risk male and female youth ages 13-20. We are looking for a creative and dynamic set of people who like to be challenged and seek to learn and better themselves professionally and personally. Our mission is to provide a continuum of services in a home-like environment where at-risk youth can work through their traumas, learn to take responsibility for their actions and lives to become productive members of society.
Our Relief MHC’s are active members of the treatment team that carry out our programmatic goals as well as work with the youth on their own treatment goals.
Responsibilities are:
- Milieu management including counseling and crisis intervention when needed.
- Knowing the histories and plans for all youth in order to give individualized care.
- Teaching the youth different skills based on their current abilities in order to enhance their opportunity for normalization and self determination.
- Ability to work as a team and take direction utilizing resident’s treatment plans is a must.
- This position is responsible for working at the facility on an on-call basis filling in for regular staff members on unfilled shifts. The hours will vary based on the need of the staff and open shifts however must have evening and weekend availability.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social work or related field. Can substitute two years of experience for educational requirements. The candidate must also possess a current valid Colorado driver’s license, have a clean driving and criminal record, be at least 22 years of age and the ability to obtain QMAP, and CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, the candidate must pass an extensive background and DMV check.
