Position Description
As an Information Technology (IT) Project Manager, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
- Manage all stages of the project life cycle, including scope, schedule, risks, issues, and budget, using established methodologies
- Develop and prioritize project deliverables and artifacts
- Prepare comprehensive project plans for all phases of the project life cycle and balance the allocation of resources to ensure timelines are met
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members while working on application development projects
- Prepare comprehensive project plans for all phases of the project life cycle and balance the allocation of resources to ensure timelines are met
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, issues, and risks, and prepare contingency plans
- Create and maintain project meeting minutes to document key decisions and action items
- Exercise sound judgment in planning, organizing, and managing projects and programs
- Facilitate project communication and change management activities
- Collaborate with business analysts and internal customers to gather required project needs
- Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation and reports
- Track and report project progress to all stakeholders
- Manage vendor relationships and facilitate vendor evaluations
- Facilitate vendor management activities, including invoice payments and vendor planning
- Assist the Project Management Team with training and developing new process improvements and advancements in project management training programs
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our overall project management discipline
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members while working on information technology projects
- Understand and comply with Applied Medical’s Quality Systems (QS), safety rules, and company policies
- Mentor and lead Project Coordinators or Project Managers, as needed
- Perform job duties while working non-standard business hours with international teams, as required
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Organizational Change, Management, or Project Management
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, including Teams, Excel, Project, and Agile Scrum
- Experience executing various information technology life cycle processes, including waterfall and agile project management methodologies and techniques
- Strong background in facilitating meetings with cross-functional teams, including technical and business users
- Solid experience managing multiple projects or large enterprise projects with complex interdependencies
- Foundational knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create effective project plans and timelines and present them in a group setting
- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
- Skilled at tracking effort and project progress, creating effective project plans and timelines, and presenting projects in a group setting
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Organizational Change, Management, or Project Management
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
Benefits
The base compensation range for this role is $80000 – $130000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
