NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$88,600 – $172,300

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a self-motivated Project Manager with manufacturing planning and controls experience to join the Sandia Production Agency (SNL-PA – Org 10456) as the Integrated Planning (IP) Team Lead. The IP Team Lead will oversee a team of planners and schedulers who interface with SNL-PA and component PRTs to develop a working strategy and executable plan to meet next level assembly needs for each assigned component in support of various weapon programs (B61-12 LEP, W88 Alt370, W80-4, W87-1, Mk21 Fuze, etc.). The IP Team Lead and team works directly with teams from KCNSC, LANL, Savannah River, and Pantex, as well as Weapon Systems and senior leadership as required, to understand Production demand and delivery needs.

You will work closely and directly with SNL engineers, technical leads, managers, and federal stakeholders to ensure the SNL-PA mission is performing to meet delivery requirements. You will be expected to provide strong leadership and to use your knowledge, experience, and judgment to ensure that accurate and actionable information is provided to SNL and federal decision makers. The IP Team Lead will provide support to leadership regarding all activities necessary to produce and deliver SNL-PA components to next level assemblies in sufficient quantity and on time.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to Project Controllers, Integrated Planners, and component line PRTs in the execution of IP Schedule related activities-driving accountability and high-quality deliverables
  • Responsible for completing necessary reporting in a timely and accurate manner to support required business rhythm
  • Work with IP Team and PRTs to plan, document, and maintain production schedules and component requirements to meet internal and external customer needs
  • Work with the IP Team to develop and maintain the SNL-PA build plans/master demand schedules in SNL-PA External Production Planning Application (EPPA) planning tool
  • Define, develop, and document planning processes and procedures to ensure team success
  • Responsible for coordinating and monitoring production performance and status and providing actionable information to customers and stakeholders regarding production deliveries and funding requirements
  • Represent SNL-PA at Project Team Meetings (e.g. Weapon Provisioning meetings, program meetings, etc.) regarding build and delivery requirements
  • Oversee the IP Team to ensure all planning meets the requirements of NNSA documents governing delivery quantities and need dates
  • Collaborate with IP Team and PRT leads to develop/define a build approach to support customer demand and ensure on-time delivery of SNL-PA components
  • Analyze impact of demand or funding changes that result in demand shifts/technical delays-notify all impacted stakeholders and own actions of changes/issues

This position requires the ability to travel as required by program needs.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus 5 years of project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job
  • Experience with common office tools and software and ability to learn and master tools specific to the job
  • Experience with P6 and Earned Value Management systems and processes
  • At least 2 years of experience leading projects
  • Active DOE Q-Level Security Clearance or DOD equivalent

Qualifications We Desire

  • Knowledge of the Nuclear Deterrence Mission and Modernization Programs
  • Experience partnering with external customers such as the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and partnering sites such as KCNSC and Pantex
  • Ability to coordinate and team internally and externally to successfully deliver requirements, respond to requests, and create a cohesive environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Technical background or ability/willingness to gain an understanding of the technical scope

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
