Product Manager

FRINGE is a leading supplier in the Gift and Stationery industry. With design and product development offices in Culver City and Irvine, CA, we create exquisite products that are found in retailers all over the world. Products range from paper stationery, decorative office accessories, ceramic tabletop and home décor, to candles, bath and body, as well as pet products.

FRINGE is seeking a Product Manager to join their Product Development team in Irvine, CA.The ideal candidate is an organized creative thinker and problem solver that understands the manufacturing process from start to finish, and can adapt their knowledge in categories they may be unfamiliar with. Working in our design studio environment, you will collaborate with the Sales, Design and Product Manager teams to further expand our product lines and manage custom programs for key retailers.

Main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Identify and lead development of new products that well represent the Fringe brand and design aesthetic
  • Create thorough product and packaging specification sheets that meet customer or company objectives
  • Research and establish relationships with new resources to develop quality products and meet target costs
  • Request quotations and negotiate with factories to ensure that customer pricing targets are met
  • Maintain various spreadsheets including program line plans and master costing files
  • Daily communication and follow up with overseas vendors on samples and production status
  • Support the Sales team with presentation collateral and follow up with key customers as required
  • Track and review incoming samples ensuring spec accuracy and quality are acceptable
  • Manage key account programs from initial product concept through final production stages, collaborating with Sales, Design, Purchasing, and Operations on all aspects required for successful program launch
  • Possible domestic and international travel

Requirements

  • College Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years related experience working with Asian manufacturers developing consumer goods product
  • Basic knowledge of consumer product regulations and testing requirements
  • Highly detail oriented with creative and analytical skills
  • Excellent email and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with manufacturing glass, ceramics and/or stationery would be valuable
  • Willing to commute between Irvine and Culver City, CA 1-2 times a month for buyer or vendor meetings
  • Bonus points if you’re fluent in Mandarin

Hybrid Schedule: Our team has transitioned back to working in the Irvine, CA office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week.

Salary range: $65,000- $75,000 annually
