As a part of your submission, please include a headshot and resume.

In your audition video, please:

  • Slate your first and last name and include a shot of your full head-to-toe body in the frame
  • Tell us how tall you are
  • Without using your voice, please act out the following four (4) emotions:
  • Happy
  • Sad
  • Angry
  • Excited
  • Show us your Jazz and Musical Theatre dance abilities
  • Performers in the following height range: 4’7″ – 5’3″

California’s Great America is seeking energetic performers with strong movement abilities to bring our costumed characters to life for our guests. Potential roles consist of various well-known animated characters. Those who would like to be considered must meet specific height qualifications. Performers wear fully covered, head-to-toe costumes. Seeking a diverse spectrum of gender identities, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. Rehearsals begin the week of March 13, 2023 and the show runs on select dates (mostly weekends with some Thursdays) from April 1 – April 30, 2023.

Performers must be at least 18 years of age. This role is compensated at a rate of $20-$22/hr * rate may vary by Park or Show character position.

We’re Looking For:

  • Performers in the following height range: 4’7″ – 5’3″
  • Availability to work all assigned rehearsal and event dates that include weekday/weekends nights and holidays
  • Individuals who are able to stand, dance, and perform in full character costumes at least eight times a day and have a silhouette that is proportionate to their height.
  • A genuine desire to make guests feel welcome and create lifelong memories.
  • Open-minded team players who are eager to learn and develop skills on the job.
  • Flexibility, acting, and dance experience (encouraged, but not required).
  • Jazz and Musical Theatre dance abilities a plus.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, and DMV
  • Ability to provide record of previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
