IT Asset Management Specialist II

Bring your best IT Asset Management skills to the team and help enable our organization to achieve its mission by proper implementation of internal controls. In this role you’ll be responsible for shaping the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within Ball Aerospace. This could include planning, monitoring, and recording software license and or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor and internal accounting standards. As the IT Asset Management Specialist, you’ll assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization and will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate, establish, document, and execute IT asset management processes, procedures, and systems for tracking, analyzing, and managing software, hardware, and equipment from requisition through retirement.
  • Account for and manage IT assets throughout the enterprise utilizing tools to manage all assets within the organization.
  • Verify, enter, and maintain IT asset management data in a variety of forms, schedules, and reports to aid the business. Track entire life-cycle management for each asset to maintain warranty/maintenance period of performance, refresh date, end of life data information.
  • Work directly with software owners to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Develop, document, and maintain published plans, policies, and procedures to document the asset management lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with the Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and ITS Procurement roles in prioritizing and initiating software renewals.
  • Ensure HW/SW audit readiness with internal, vendor, or government entities.
  • May train and guide the work of less experienced IT Asset Management Specialists.
  • Conduct process improvement activities, such as lean events, to eliminate inefficiencies in existing processes.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 6 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Flexible On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three or more days per work week. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Compensation & Benefits:

  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $82,500 – $112,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
