Omni Interlocken Resort & Spa is seeking a Summer Pool Attendant to join our outstanding recreation team! This vital role will work closely with the Director of Operations to successfully execute all operations relating to the recreation department, resulting in high levels of guest satisfaction. This highly motivated individual will provide a warm, welcoming, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere at the pool while exceeding guest expectations. To coordinate, implement, and provide recreation entertainment.
This seasonal position is typically Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Salary for this position: $18.00/hour. Seasonal Associates may be eligible for select benefits based on number of hours worked. Omni Interlocken Resort reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race.
Responsibilities
- Ability to operate independently while upholding company standards
- Responsible for overseeing safety of guests in our pool and recreation areas
- Create a fun, relaxing and enjoyable experience for all our guests and members
- Promote all programs – including daily activities, wellness events, etc.
- Maintain clear communication with essential departments
- Actively participate in the assurance of the safety and fun of all programs/events
- Assist with general resort duties as assigned
- Treat everyone – managers, associates and guests with courtesy and respect
- Become efficient with the Point of Sales and reservation systems
- Assist with routine cleaning of all recreation areas and equipment (sweeping, mopping, picking up, organizing and keeping track of inventory)
- Cross-utilize in all areas of recreation
- Complete daily checklists in their entirety
- Properly complete recreation agreements and reservations as needed
- Inspire guests to participate in activities to enhance their experience
- Includes but is not limited to: smores, dive in movies, family recreation nights
- Energize the guests sitting on the pool deck
- Contribute to creating unique activities to implement
- Facilitate sale and creation of activities not covered in the daily resort fee
- Maintain activities supplies and equipment
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the towel huts
- Responsible for upkeep of AV equipment
- Using a hose, rinse off the deck space daily
- Monitor the cleanliness of the deck space
- Organize the lounge chairs in an orderly fashion
- Maintain the lounge chairs with weekly cleaning
- Maintain the equipment used to clean the deck
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the towel huts
- Responsible for setting umbrellas
- Collect deck litter and remove full trash bins
- Remove dirty linens from deck area. Retrieve clean laundry from the laundry department to fold and put away. Take dirty linens to laundry department when the bin is full and at the end of the day.
- Appropriately organize the towels in the huts and pit as needed
- Place a rolled towel on each available lounge chair
- Properly check in guests and seat them appropriately
- Identify VIPs and provide appropriate treatment based on preferences
- Organize the towels in the huts as needed
- Provide property-wide information to all guests
- Greet guests immediately and with undivided attention
- Up sell retail items, make/up sell sno-cones, up sell ice cream items, etc.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the towel huts
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pool decks by performing hourly pool sweeps
- Communicate with Food and Beverage Department to ensure guests have their needs met.
Qualifications
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Able to become certified in basic CPR and First Aid.
- Okay to work in various weather conditions: extreme heat, cold, rain, sun, etc.
- Must be comfortable in and around pools.
- The season is May-September.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be 17yrs+
