Primary Duties:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Resident Engineer are as follows:
Reports directly to the assigned HDR Resident Engineer (RE)
Supports the HDR RE in managing and supervising an assigned field office and construction
field inspection staff and conduct reviews and verifications of construction schedules and inspections.
Responsible to assist in the preparation and negotiations of construction change orders
and for preparation of weekly / monthly project reports.
Participates in Project Progress meetings and assists when called upon in preparing meeting agendas and minutes
Performs routine assignments requiring application of spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling software.

Required Qualifications
BS Civil Engineering or Construction or a comparable combination of education and experience.
5+ years progressive experience on MTA NYC Transit construction projects
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be computer literate, experience with Microsoft office, Microsoft Project and related PC software packages used on design and construction projects.
Preferred qualifications:
Candidates who reside locally in the metro NY/NJ area are preferred.
NYS PE not required, but is preferred.
Additional experience in transit construction projects would be preferred, but is not required.
