Position Details:
Title: Bus Driver – Route SN 2 (Approximately 8 hours per day)
Placement (location): Transportation Department
Supervisor: Transportation Supervisor
Contract Days: 178 days per year to begin in September 2023
Salary Range: No less than $16.92 – $24.07 per hour depending upon previous, full time experience in similar position.
Salary listed indicates current 2020-2023 Collective Bargaining Agreement – subject to change

Description:
Bus Route Driver (Special Needs)-approximately 8 hours per day.

General Expectations:
Have an Oregon CDL or be willing to obtain CDL:

  • Take 4 tests at DMV to obtain permit
  • Train 15-60 hours with our transportation department (average is 30 days)
  • Return to DMV to obtain CDL

Cost is approximately $138 dollars to obtain CDL. District will reimburse $138 after you have worked 60 days.

Bus Route Drivers that are properly licensed bus drivers and enter into a permanent bargaining position as a bus driver, shall receive a $500 signing stipend in their first regular paycheck after a minimum of 30 calendar days of working as a bus driver. After 8 months of service as a bus driver, the employee shall receive an additional $500 in their next regular paycheck. We will train eligible applicants to attain bus driver credentials.

The Bus Driver provides clean, safe and reliable transportation to ensure that students enjoy the full advantage of school district programs and activities.
