Job Description
Location- Preference is Canton, OH (hybrid, 1-2 days in office) Open to Remote in the US.
3E and our Authoring Enablement Team are looking for an Authoring Enablement Specialist III (Canton, OH or Remote) to serve as a technical super-user and steward of our 3E Generate SDS Authoring platform, used by our internal SDS Authoring Team to create over 20,000 SDS annually. This software system, a solution developed and sold by 3E, is also used by many in the global chemicals industry to streamline their SDS and label authoring. The Authoring Enablement Specialist will work closely with our global SDS Authoring Team and our 3E Generate Development Team to maintain, troubleshoot and improve the user experience for our internal SDS Authors and all 3E Generate users as we work to keep the world a safer place.
Principal Responsibilities and Essential functions:
Authoring Enablement
- Provide troubleshooting, problem correction, assistance, and instruction to staff resolving Authoring support related tickets
- Work with Engineering and regulatory expert teams to report, prioritize and fix authoring software issues and complete customization needs efficiently and effectively
- Manage the coordination and testing of software releases for On-Demand instance of 3E Generate
- Assist 3E Generate co-source clients and internal co-source authors with system audits, targeted system setup and highly technical support needs
- Work with technical and development teams to ideate, develop and implement new technical solutions for Authoring teams
- Lead and participate in teams to develop, improve and maintain critical resources and tools for Authoring teams
- Provide process and software improvement ideas for automation and efficiency
- Create, maintain and update technical documentation such as work instructions, procedures, problem fixes and client support procedures
- Provide trainings for Authoring team as needed
- Complete all responsibilities as outlined on annual performance plan
- Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned
- Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
Required:
- Computer science background: Graduate in Computer Science or related field or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and or Science/Regulatory background: Graduate in Science (Chemistry preferred) with experience in the regulatory field
- Excellent technical working knowledge of computers, especially Windows software and Microsoft Office programs.
- 2-3 years Project management and/or Team lead skills and experience
- Highly logical thinker with excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to think creatively and out of the box
- Ability and desire to quickly learn new software programs, processes, and regulatory topics
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task to meet standard response times and deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees, and client staff
Desirable-
- Experience with SDS Authoring software, either as a user or as technical support
- Understanding of GHS regulations, classifications and requirements for SDS Authoring
- Experience working with enterprise level Database Managements Systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence

The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,000-$78,400 Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s skills, experience, geography, and qualifications as well as the candidate’s location of residence. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and/or equity depending on the position offered.
