PSE’s Financial Planning & Analysis team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Data Scientist III position!

Job Description
Works independently on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of variable factors. Level 3 Data Scientists will exercise independent judgement in selecting methods and tools such as data scripting language like Python, R, text regression, Jupyter Notebooks, Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP), and Pandas. They will also have data modeling and analysis experience with SQL and No SQL and data manipulation techniques.
They will also have extensive experience with building, tuning, and managing the creation of machine learning models for business applications including data cleansing, ordering and tagging (data wrangling).
Data Scientists III will have direct experience and full functional knowledge of AWS platforms such as S3 and Sagemaker, and working knowledge of SAP HANA database and HANA studio.
Data Scientists at this level will mentor Data Scientist I & II levels and other PSE employees working with models or tools developed by Data Scientists.
Build formal networks, which coordinate and communicate analytical activities among diverse groups. People in this role have wide-ranging experience and use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
Develop production quality models that resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways that can be utilized by other departments and/or customers to forecast and plan more effective operations.
Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop production quality complex analytics and machine learning models where analysis of data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Participate in data science mentoring efforts.
- Provides leadership for cross-functional projects and enterprise data and analytics solutions.
- Researches and experiments with new techniques, technology and methods to innovate and advance Data Science efforts at PSE (Innovation Lab).
- Effectively communicates and collaborates across groups to provide insights to the organization, and to train other Data Scientists in improvements realized during Innovation Lab sessions.
- Collaborates and contributes to data science standards and methodologies.
- Collaborates and builds productive relationships with various internal and external departments to understand departmental issues and provides solutions to moderately complex problems.
- Clarifies business requests for assistance and document business requirements taking a broad perspective to identify solutions.
- Devise possible solutions and plan solution development.
- Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building user solutions by processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
- Carries out data mining using state-of-the-art methods.
- Performs ad-hoc analysis and presents results in a clear manner.
- Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis.
- Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design.
- Manages multiple end-to-end data science projects simultaneously.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, mathematics, statistics, economics, Data Science or other relevant quantitative field; or equivalent experience.
- At least eight or more years of experience leading Data Science Projects.
- Experience with prioritizing multiple small Data Science initiatives. Experience with creating project overviews and effort estimates.
- SQL and NOSQL experience.
- Experience with mentoring data scientists and business users.
- Experience building, tuning, and managing the creation of machine learning models for business applications including data cleansing, ordering and tagging (data wrangling).
- Solid experience with data scripting language like Python, R etc. Experience in SQL and data manipulation techniques.
- Expert level experience with Machine Learning, Data Science algorithm visualization.
- Expert level understanding of Machine Learning techniques such as Regression, clustering, decision trees, random forests, NLP, etc.
- Direct experience and full functional knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Ability to present findings in the data in a clear and concise manner, using visualization (e.g. creating dashboards) and narrative formats.
- Expert innovation and new technology research and development skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to naturally explain difficult technical topics to everyone from data scientists to engineers to business partners.
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate degree in quantitative field.
- Experience with working with Azure or other cloud-based platforms.
- Experience working with SAP ECC data.
- Natural curiosity and desire to learn, a passion for solving real world problems.
- Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
- Working knowledge of SAP HANA database and HANA studio.

The pay range for this position is $122,300.00 – $216,400.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
