A law firm based in Los Angeles, CA that focuses on complex litigation is seeking a highly skilled Second Chair Commercial Litigator to join their team. In this role you will be required to manage cases independently under the support of a team of junior lawyers and paralegals. You will also be responsible for writing witness outlines, doing motions, prepping witnesses and will be the second chair in trials. This is an exciting position for someone who loves the thrill of going to trial and using ground-breaking legal strategy to win cases.
Pay Range: $180,000 – $200,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of litigation, both plaintiff and defense
- Manage cases on their own with minimal supervision
- Serve as second chair in trials against top litigators in the US
- Assist in writing witness outlines and witness preparation
- Draft and file motions
- Work with 3 paralegals and contract work for bigger cases as needed
- Bring in new business
Requirements:
- 5-8+ years of litigation experience
- Reputable law school degree
- Experience with acquisitions, motion practice, making witness lists, and exposure to prep or dispositions
- Trial experience preferred
- 2nd chair experience preferred
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Detailed oriented and extremely organized
