Position Description
As the SAP Basis Administrator III, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
- Partner with the IT infrastructure team to construct a new HANA system
- Uprun and install SAP systems on HANA database
- Perform backups and restores using SAP HANA tools like BACKINT, Cockpit, Studio and Replication Services
- Create strategy and prepare existing SAP and third party add-ons for S/4 HANA conversion
- Correlate problems against experience and diagnose any technical problem in a timely fashion
- Support the planning, installation, configuration, maintenance and production monitoring of the SAP S4 HANA instances and associated software tools
- Creating IT solutions to solve complex business problems
- Manage the SAP sub-systems, such as like SAP Content Server (KPRO), SAP router, SAP Web Dispatcher, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Landscape Transformation Server (SLT)
- Work with the Application team to setup CVI Cockpit for customer vendor integration
- Monitor support for a largescale production environment
- Manage the hybrid SAP system landscape, including S/4 HANA, Fiori, ERP 6.0, CRM, GTS, GRC, Enterprise Portals, HCM, Business Objects, BI Platform and Solution Manager
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Previously executed at least two end-to-end S4 HANA implementation or conversion projects
- Proficient using UNIX computer operating systems and cloud infrastructure
- Proven awareness of Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) configuration and integration with Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)
- Solid understanding of IT production services and basic techniques for various operating systems (OS), like Linux and Windows
- Prior experience using Database Migration Option (DMO) of the Software Update Manager (SUM) to migrate or convert existing error correction code (ECC) memory on HANA to S/4 HANA
- Capacity to independently architect, provide requirements, and work with IT infrastructure teams to build new HANA systems, as well as partner with application teams to custom code remediation before conversion
- Good understanding of infrastructure components used by SAP applications, such as backup and recovery, storage, network, firewall, hardware, and hosting
- Experience using database trace utilities and trace log-file analysis
- Advanced written and verbal communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
- Extensive experience with SAP, SAP HANA, SAP S/4 HANA, including:
- SAP
- Client copies and system refreshes
- Kernel upgrades
- Support Package Update through SDM, JSPM, SUM
- SLD Administration
- HANA
- Support (administration, backup, and fail-over)
- Implementation
- Database troubleshooting (performance tuning, patching, provisioning, and high-availability)
- Migration
- Configuration of High Availability and Disaster Recovery set up
- Troubleshoot memory bottlenecks and performance tuning
- Use of Studio and DBA cockpit, analyzing traces and dumps for memory and CPU consumption
- Install and upgrade databases in a scale-up and scale-out environment
- SAP S/4 HANA
- Integrate with CRM and GRC
- Global implementation experience or next generation business transformation knowledge and skills
- Readiness checks on existing ECC landscape
- Regular operational support post migration

Preferred

Benefits
The base compensation range for this role is $130000 – $170000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
