License Asset Specialist

Position Description

As a License Asset Specialist I/II, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Oversee and maintain the posture and compliance of the software, licenses, subscriptions, and contracts
  • Engage with Information Technology (IT) and other team members to oversee the purchase and management of software assets and contracts
  • Coordinate efforts to review and procure enterprise software assets
  • Produce licensing, software, and financial reports
  • Provide daily support to management of license and software asset repository
  • Ensure fulfillment of license and software requests
  • Coordinate documentation effort of license and software assets
  • Communicate with management the status of software, license, and contract posture
  • Develop and enhance the processes for the License Asset Management team
  • Act as a point of escalation for challenges, concerns, and ideas
  • Attend and facilitate meetings to further software, license, and contract posture
  • Act as a champion for the team in the larger Corporate IT organization
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the IT department
  • Gather and analyze information to help identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands
  • Manage and maintain enterprise license agreements
  • Facilitate annual license true-ups and renewals
  • Act as point of contact for software vendors and resellers
  • Provide License Asset Manager with updates and reports on software and license posture

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 3 years’ IT experience with 1 year of ITAM (IT Asset Management) experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, in Information Technology field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Thorough understanding of ITAM/ITIL principles
  • Knowledge of Information Technology practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of the software industry
  • Adept at dealing with frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events
  • Understanding of software asset management policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Possesses outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently as well as within the framework of a team
  • Coordinate multiple projects and prioritize workload
  • Top tier customer service skills and commitment to the quality of the customer experience
  • Work and remain calm in a fast-paced, pressurized environment

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Proficient with Software Asset Management (SAM) tools, including Flexera
  • ServiceNow proficiency is desirable
  • Relevant industry certification (i.e., CSAM, IAITAM, ITIL) preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products and licensing models is desirable
  • IT procurement experience is a plus
  • IT user access administration is a plus

Benefits

The base compensation range for this role is $26.75 – $36.25 / hour for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
