Work Schedule – Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (36-hour work week), This position performs on-call duties in assigned rotation. Must be accessible during off-hours during on-all rotation

THE ROLE
Under general supervision, the Business Analyst is responsible for creating new models supporting business decisions by working closely with business units and IT teams to establish initiatives and strategies to improve business processes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field;
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), finance, economics, or related field is preferred
- A minimum five (5) years of work experience in analytics and/or systems development capacity, with project management skills.
Equivalency: In addition to the five (5) years of work experience in analytics and/or systems development, eight (8) years of work experience may be substituted for the education. The City assesses one (1) year of full-time job relevant job experience as equivalent to one (1) year of education.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess or obtain a valid Nevada driver’s license at time of hire and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record for the duration of employment
BACKGROUND PROCESS & PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for this position are subject to pre-employment screenings and employment is contingent upon these results. Pre-employment screenings may include but are not limited to: local, state, and federal criminal history checks, and may require submission of fingerprints; drug screen; and physical examinations to include a psychological evaluation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Works in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
- While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk to assigned post possibly outside, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, or talk, and hear, view camera and computer screens for prolonged periods of time, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

The starting salary for this position is $77,954.82- $125,907.67
