AllianzGI US Holdings and ACPoA are seeking an experienced and dynamic compliance professional to serve as CCO for their growing private markets business, and to provide overall compliance leadership and support to their US employee populations. The successful candidate will take a leading role in shaping the overall US compliance program with a focus on private markets compliance, including through being responsible for Investment Compliance support to the Private Markets platform, and for implementing and executing a compliance program for the company’s investment related and other activities in the US.
Base salary will range from approximately $125k-$250k, based on prior experience and qualifications. Merit-based variable compensation awarded would be in addition to the base salary.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the local US Private Markets Compliance program as CCO for ACPoA, an SEC-registered investment adviser, covering topics including MNPI management, Information Barriers, Management of Conflicts of Interest, trade allocations, and advising on new fund launches.
- Take ownership of ACPoA’s regulatory compliance program, including the annual compliance testing, monitoring and reporting process developed pursuant to SEC Rule 206(4)-7.
- Support the Global Head of Private Markets Compliance and the US General Counsel in building a strong culture of compliance across the US Private Markets investment platform.
- Lead the regular evaluation of ACPoA’s compliance risks and the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Provide day to day compliance advice to US Private Markets investment teams, working closely with other Legal and Compliance team members.
- Oversee the execution of the compliance plan for the Private Markets Division, as well as ad hoc and periodic reviews of controls.
- Lead local and global Compliance projects and represent Private Markets Compliance on company initiatives.
- Lead the drafting and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls.
- Be responsible for the development and delivery of regular and ad hoc compliance training on discrete topics relevant to the Private Markets Division.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues as needed.
- Handle regulatory requests and examinations.
- Interact with senior management on Compliance-related matters and carry out other tasks on an as-needed basis.
- Stay abreast of Compliance related regulatory changes and industry practices.
- In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and implementing the broader Compliance program applicable to ACPoA and Allianz Global Investors US employees, including Code of Ethics implementation, Personal Account Dealings, G&E and other topics.
Experience / Qualifications and Skills
- BS/BA
- 5-8+ years of relevant compliance, operational risk, or legal experience within the asset management industry with a focus on private markets / alternative compliance.
- Full knowledge of the Adviser’s Act and associated compliance requirements and responsibilities, including those pursuant to e.g. SEC Rule 206(4)-7, the Form ADV and other requirements.
- Prior management experience is preferred but not essential, as is experience related to infrastructure equity and/or infrastructure debt investment strategies.
- Prior experience handling regulatory examinations and requests is preferred.
