Job Description

CRDF Global is seeking candidates for its 2023 Summer Internship Program in support of the CDC Programs under the Global Health Division. The internship will be located in our Arlington, Virginia office and will begin on June 1st and end on August 31, 2023. We work in a hybrid environment that provides employees with a weekly mix of in-office and remote work.

The Intern will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts and operations specialists at CRDF Global to support the execution of a regional antimicrobial resistance (AMR) project on behalf of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to strengthen systems to prevent, detect, and respond to emerging infectious disease threats in Jordan and in the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well as the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region. As part of the AMR Project Team, the Intern will work closely with the Technical Specialist, Technical Advisors, and other project team members.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure quality data collection, transcription, and analysis
  • Support the development of summary reports of major findings that will be submitted to CDC
  • Participate in designated survey team interviews
  • Participate in designated internal meetings and meetings with the customer and stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Possesses or pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in public health, or a related field
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis skills
  • Strong oral and written fluency in English. Working knowledge of Arabic is considered a plus
  • Experience working on internationally funded programs is considered a plus
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly with database entry and spreadsheets; and excellent proofreading and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, and to effectively communicate about the status of projects
  • Ability to work in teams and independently
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week with a maximum of 28 hours per week
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship required

CRDF Global pays interns at a rate of $16.50 per hour.
