The BNSF eServices team is seeking a talented and experienced EDI Software Architect/Engineer with a deep understanding of Axway software products. As an EDI expert, you will play a crucial role in architecting, installing, configuring, testing, and supporting the Axway B2Bi, Secure Relay, Sentinel, and Decision Insights products, as well as performing EDI Mapping. Your strong problem-solving skills will be put to use as you assist in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing complex, high visibility projects. Your leadership skills will be essential as you coordinate with other teams to develop appropriate interfaces and ensure quality and efficiency through capacity planning, performance assessment, as well as integration and regression testing to resolve complex business needs.

As an EDI Software Architect/Engineer at BNSF Railway, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a crucial component of modern business operations, enabling companies to exchange business documents electronically, such as purchase orders, invoices, and shipment notices, between different systems and across various industries. In the transportation industry, EDI is particularly crucial for smooth operations, and we rely heavily on EDI to communicate with our customers, suppliers, and other partners.

Your role will be as an individual contributor on a team which manages and supports our EDI Infrastructure, ensuring that our Axway software products are installed, configured, tested, and validated correctly. You will be responsible for mapping partner transactions, managing Linux shell (bash) scripts, and ensuring that our EDI systems are always running at optimal capacity. Additionally, you will be part of the team providing 24×7 support and troubleshooting of any issues which arise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for a candidate who has a Bachelor’s degree with preference in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business, and at least 6 years of relevant equivalent work experience. At least 2 years of experience in an engineering and support role working on Axway B2Bi and Secure Relay products. You should also have a deep understanding of EDI document structure and error handling. Your experience should include working with IBM MQ Series (or equivalent) and Linux shell (bash) scripting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to be well organized and multi-task, and a dedication to providing excellent customer service are all essential qualities for this role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Perl Scripting and Advanced Linux system commands and understanding of performance and capacity planning. Experience with file transfer, MQ and AS2 protocols, defining and troubleshooting data interchange partner transactions, creating and editing maps for partner transactions, and a good understanding of best practices for application security considerations and solutions. Experience with Axway Decision Insight, MQ/IPT, F5 / BigIP Load Balancer, and dashboards and analytics are all desirable.
