Job Summary
The Director of Women & Children Ministry (WCM), Enhanced Shelter is responsible for management and oversight of all Women and Children Emergency Shelter functions to include staff, guests, residents, volunteers and facilities by providing Christ-centered vision, direction, leadership and program implementation. This position provides oversight to 20+ staff, 100+ bed emergency shelter operations and on ramps to recovery and employment programs beds in King County.
What you will do
- Provide effective vision, direction and oversight of the various WCM Emergency Shelter programs, which include: Enhanced Shelter, Graduate programs, LINK/BRIDGE programming
- Provide oversight and direction to multi-disciplinary teams including Guest Services, Support Services, Child & Youth Staff, Chaplains, and Case Managers.
- Coordinate effectively with Shared Services (Facilitilies, GIK, Food Services, Marketing, Volunteers, Church Engagement teams) and with Program Services (Referral & Intake, Behavioral Health, Outreach, Dental, Legal and Aftercare).
- Ensure that all Emergency Shelter programs and facilities utilize a grace-based model for community.
- Manage, support, facilitate and review the work of direct reports by equipping, encouraging and empowering them in their specific areas of responsibilities, including regular one-on-one meetings, creating career development plans and performing timely annual performance reviews.
- Manage, review and approve all department staff hiring and disciplinary actions, in cooperation with supervisor and People Team.
- Implement, lead and review a continuous quality improvement process throughout the programs and service areas.
- Develop and implement a running multi-year strategic plan for the department, which includes annual goals, metrics management and budgeting.
- Administrative duties will include monitoring all incoming donations, other incoming cash and client sustenance allowance reports for accuracy and security, ensuring that all reports are processed according to internal guidelines; monthly and annual reporting; managing department expenditures, and the oversight of staff scheduling.
- Ensure that all department programs and activities operate consistently with the mission statement, enterprise goals and core values.
- Work with the city and county on coordinated efforts and partnerships where needed.
- Represent the Mission with external constituency groups, which may include donors, the media, government officials, community/neighborhood associations, churches and private organizations, promoting the best possible care and advocacy for those we serve.
- Attend all Mission meetings and training sessions, as required.
- Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude. Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships which will serve as a leadership example for recovery program men.
- Provide team activities that build morale and enhance team culture.
- Provide direction in creating and implementing meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers may serve within the department.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent years of experience. Masters Degree in related field highly preferred. A combination of education and 8 years of experience may be substituted.
- Five (5) plus years of experience in a social services, Emergency Shelter or Addiction Recovery setting.
- Five years of management experience with oversight over 20+ staff preferred.
- Two years of homeless ministry emergency services management/administration experience required.
- Two years of experience successfully managing a budget in excess of $1 million required.
- Extensive experience interfacing with government agencies/entities regarding homelessness and addiction highly preferred.
- Experience working with a case management system Clarity if highly preferred
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Valid and unrestricted drivers license is required.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds and walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the company. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
