As Manager, Project Management, you will leverage clinical, business & system knowledge to interact directly with UCS functional leaders, Project Team members & Enterprise Application teams to provide recommendations on medical policy projects, new programs and process improvements. You will provide input as to how they impact processes, workflows, systems, and regulatory compliance and performance standards. This role will drive efficiency & optimization for our business teams’ continued refinement of operational workflows.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Holistic knowledge of UCS landscape serving all lines of business to proactively participate, collaborate & influence cross-organization clinical program activities and direction in support of delivering the Clinical Services agenda in a timely manner
  • Establish a standardized communication methodology for interacting with business partners, project & application teams. Ensuring consistent repeatable processes, expectations and project outputs
  • Engagement to provide support and establish relationships with UCS business teams as well as other business segments (i.e. Optum, Network, Provider Relations, COSS, OCIO, C&S, M&R, M&V) to ongoing development and implementation
  • Engagement for all enterprise tool suite technology enhancements, as needed, providing insight & expertise to application utilization to support the UCS business process
  • Provide directives on projects to identify best practices, drive standardization and optimization to improve performance and/or create efficiencies
    • Educate leaders regarding day-to-day obligations of clinical operations
    • Assist with document interpretations of rules and regulations
  • Assist in the scheduling and preparation for formal Medical Policy Committee Meetings
  • Support training strategy related to new and significantly revised Medical Policies, including development of educational slide presentations
  • Collaborate with the Senior Data Analyst on timelines for reporting activities
  • Drive continued process alignment & standardization, identify ongoing coaching opportunities & staffing assessments

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in process development, tracking & planning
  • 3+ years of Clinical experience
  • Experience identifying improvement opportunities
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization
  • Proven self-starter with adaptability
  • Proven excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree (e.g., MPH, MBA)
  • PMP certification
  • Experience with project management technology
  • Experience managing staff/mentoring others
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Visio and SharePoint
