Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement plan for outreach and recruitment activities
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring program recruitment, enrollment and retention
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring participant documentation throughout the enrollment process utilizing Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) Youth employment Program System (YEPS)
  • Create and submit weekly enrollment reports to supervisor.
  • Collaborate with Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Program Aides and Data Entry Clerks to ensure that all participant documentation submitted in the DYCD YEPS database system meet DYCD required criteria
  • Conduct phone calls to selected SYEP participants in order to inform and review required documentation for enrollment
  • Responsible for placement of SYEP participants to assigned worksites/project-based learning activities
  • Review and enter monitors assessment reports into the DYCD YEPS database on a weekly basis
  • Ensure that worksites are following DYCD policies and procedures
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with documentation
  • Maintain worksite folders with required documentation as per DYCDs criteria
  • Complete any other assignments and tasks as specified by supervisor
  • **During the months of July and August, contingent on the availability of funds, the Intake Specialist will transition to the Senior Monitor position within the Summer Youth Employment Program.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 6-10 Site Monitors.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the teams to ensure the delivery of high performance, acting as an enthusiastic, positive and motivated coach.
  • Take full responsibility for the performance management of the teams to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in line with RiseBoro policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally as well as in writing
  • Ability to communicate with youth and parents in a professional, calm, patient and friendly manner
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to deal professionally with confidential information
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Must have a passion for working in service to the success of youth programs, and be willing to go above and beyond program mandates for the benefit of the children.
  • Must be team-oriented, working well with others to inspire success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma and three years of supervisory experience; or
  • At least 24 college credits and two years of supervisory experience
