JOB DETAILS:
- Starting Hourly Pay: $17.84
- Multiple pay increases over your first 2.5 years of service, with an end salary of $19.15 per hour for first shift employment. This does not include overtime opportunities or shift differential pay!
- Shift differential pay for 2nd and 3rd shift (additional $.60 per hour)

The Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown offers 168 beds for nursing home care. Two levels of care are offered: standard care for veterans in need of any intermediate level of care, and memory care for veterans with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. The home staffs a full time Physician and Certified Nurse Practitioner.
The home opened in 2003, and is located in the scenic countryside of Brown County, offering a tranquil setting where veterans can feel at home. Those who wish to visit with our residents can enjoy a small park on the grounds, which includes a pavilion, walking trail and playground.
Who we need:
A candidate who will diligently and meticulously transport veterans while maintaining safety (e.g. inspections, repairs and required documentation) at all times.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operates small motor vehicle (e.g., car, station wagon, van, mini-bus, wheelchair van) to transport Nursing Home residents & staff to & from scheduled activities (e.g., field trips, recreational programs, shopping trips, athletic activities & community functions) & medical appointments with local &/or out of town health care providers;
- Assists residents boarding & exiting vehicles;
- Provide & perform safety inspections in security of residents & staff while transporting.
- Inspects & maintains cleanliness of vehicles & reports need for repair;
- Prepares & maintains documentation of resident attendance, mileage, fuel & other related reports;

Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking English; valid driver’s license. Valid commercial driver’s license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Revised Code. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
