- Create and assemble tech packs with construction detail sketches, specs, how to measure guides and tolerances.
- Partner with the HBI Tech Design community to develop blocks and fit communication tools. Build and maintain technical design data libraries in Flex PLM.
- Lead fittings, taking detailed and accurate notes, and communicating directives with clear comments and detailed photos and/or digital renderings to vendors. Prep and analyze garments to determine compliance of comments, specs, construction details, and sketches/ digital renderings
- Support HBI technical design fit and development of both Regular and Plus size apparel – must have technical understanding of body, fit, ease, flat specs, fabric/trim
- Create and adjust 3D prototypes from a block and/or design sketch utilizing digital software through pattern manipulation while maintaining proper balance and ideal pattern shapes/fit. Involves advanced pattern knowledge, and 3D garment simulation.
- Support training others on the use of the 3D Design software and digital processes pertaining.
- Product development – digital material, digital print and pattern etc. Shares out in presentations.
- Collaborates in the creation of new seasons tech packs and specifications. Creates new season tech packs as well as late adds and speed to market styles.
- Partnering in HBI DPC meetings and workshops.

As a 3D Senior Technical Designer, you will be a pivotal team member within the Champion Sport creative community. You will bring an exceptional knowledge of garment construction, pattern balance and fit across men’s and women’s product, coupled with a strong ability to support the development process using digital tools such as Browzwear or Clo. You will lead and support all aspects of Technical Design related functions from initial Tech Pack creation, to leading both digital & physical fittings with Design. You will act as the ‘gate keeper’, ensuring the brands fits and product standards are adhered to, whilst ensuring you have a strong understanding of the marketplace, and key aspirational and competitive brands. You will be joining an extremely fast-paced team of creative and energetic individuals, ‘championing’ new ways of working digitally to support development and collaboration. You will partner and collaborate with the HBI Digital Product Creation Team to support the businesses digital product creation processes and goals, as well as providing input towards new ways of working.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who is passionate about fashion, fit and customer with an strong understanding for brand aesthetic and price point.
Qualifications
- Required Education/Certification: Bachelors in related field or comparable experience. Apparel/Fashion Design, Garment Fit & Construction, Engineering, etc.
- Required Years of Experience: 7+ year’s experience; with minimum of 5 years’ experience using 2D & 3D technology, including CLO 3D or Browzwear or similar 3D design/pattern making software
- Software proficiency and in-depth working knowledge of: Browzwear and or Clo, 2D pattern development, Adobe Illustrator. Photoshop, desirable but not essential.
- Expertise and participation in the apparel development process
- Creative mindset and always thinking how we can ‘raise the bar’ and excel.
- Strong 2D and 3D skills and Rendering ability.
- Strong understanding of 2D pattern & block development and knowledge of the technical fitting process (Physical and on Avatars)
- Strong communication skills with cross functional business partners to support delivering change using digital concepts and technology for development and fitting: Design, Production, Merchandising, Supply Chain and vendor partners
- Lead and manage people, demonstrating leadership and a collaborative mindset.

The pay range for this position is $106,560 to $159,840 per year.
