Construction Project Engineer (Makers Line)

Makers Line is multi-faceted general contractor specializing in multi-family, adaptive re-use, tenant improvement, parking structures, ground-up, new core/shell, and site infrastructure. This position is responsible for completing/coordinating pre and post job reviews and overseeing and assisting the management of the work prior to and throughout construction. Assist with or complete the following tasks, including but not limited to: call in inspections, order material, initiate Requests for Information (RFI’s) for drawing clarifications, track project costs, submit change orders, schedule jobs, assist in strength testing, oversee field labor, coordinate with subcontractors for bidding and sequencings needs.

Construction Project Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in performing the day to day duties to facilitate and manage the pre-construction and construction activities of mixed-use commercial and multi-family projects
  • Preparing and tracking project submittals, assisting in maintaining the performance of each subcontractor, verifying compliance with the plans and specifications, and attending weekly and monthly job site meetings and other duties necessary for the successful completion of the projects
  • Work with project team members to develop schedule plan and progress strategy for each project
  • Support the project with quality control analysis, coordinate with the city inspector and third-party inspector, ensure the construction work meets standards specified by designers
  • Scope and contract preparation, obtaining various permits, preparing and reviewing project schedules, estimating and verifying change order requests, responding to RFI’s and responding to subcontractor and consultants project-related questions,
  • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reporting package to the Owner’s Representative and Architect

  • Must be able to maintain attendance
  • Must have knowledge or experience with Reading Blueprints, RFI’s, Submittals, Change Orders, Scheduling, Online Document Controls, Taking Meeting Notes
  • Must have Valid US Driver’s License
  • Spanish is a plus but is not required
  • Salary $50,000.00+ starting salary
  • Formal degree Construction disciplines preferred, but not required
