Primary Purpose of the Position :
Develops and implements internal and external communications strategies and solutions that drive business success. Acts as strategic, hands-on business partner that counsels and supports the Beverage Packaging North and Central America (BPNCA) President and Executive Leadership team to advance business objectives, bolster culture, engage employees, and deliver results. Strengthens and protects Ball’s reputation among BPNCA stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in building affinity for Ball and aluminum beverage cans.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Develops strategies and activities to inform and engage BPNCA employees, help them understand how they contribute to the organization’s success and strengthening their connection to the business and to each other.
- Advises the BPNCA Executive Leadership team on communication strategies and tactics aligned with business objectives.
- As a member of the global Communications leadership team, collaborates closely with corporate and regional Communications teams to align overarching approaches, maximize resources, and share best practices.
- Leads message development around key milestones/announcements and provides support to the executive leadership team.
- Plans and coordinates key events managing all details and providing on-the-ground support.
- Works across functions to engage employees in two-way communication. Targets people leaders and manufacturing employees in particular to help them be productive and navigate change.
- Works closely with the commercial teams regarding the internal and external communications of product news, customer successes including support for media relations and social media. Serves as external spokesperson for the division as needed.
- Serves as a member on the Company crisis communication team and contributes to the Company’s crisis response planning, providing proactive anticipation of issues and real-time responses during crises. Ensures appropriate level of preparedness through coordinated training and support aligned with Ball’s enterprise plan.
- Forges connections between BPNCA facilities and their local communities, working with plant/office teams to provide opportunities and promote charitable giving and employee volunteerism, along with management of local community issues as needed.
- Manages and supports consistent implementation of Ball’s brand identity across the region and works with the global Communications organization to leverage Ball social channels and owned media to inspire confidence in Ball and its leaders.
- Directs the activities of outside vendor partners to ensure the finished project supports the divisional objectives while monitoring quality and cost effectiveness.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experience in a related field (e.g., communications, public relations) usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience
- Job related experience for 7 years minimum, including strategy development and execution of internal and external communications
- Experience with manufacturing/operations employee base preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to influence, including challenging and counseling senior executives
- Proficient in multi-tasking and navigating change and ambiguity
- Flexible self-starter, energetic team player and collaborator
- Understanding of how global companies and matrix organizations operate
- Knowledge of communications tools and channels to engage internal and external stakeholders, especially in manufacturing environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Hiring Salary Range: $114,900-$178,480 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- Other Compensation: This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
