Job Description :
The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs) is looking for world-class talent in Software Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75-year tradition-making history in advanced aircraft development. The vehicle management software team is looking for an experienced software engineer to contribute to new development software designed to fly both our current platforms and the aircraft of the future.
The responsibilities for this role will span the technology development lifecycle, including requirements generation, system and software design and implementation, and integration and flight test.
The responsibilities for this role may span the avionics services, to include ground station development as well as mission systems software technologies. Integration activities will include a multitude of host systems, such as live assets of varying capability and structure simulated systems, and laboratory environments that include constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college in a relevant field of study; or equivalent experience
• Experience with C and/or C++
• Experience with Linux or RTOS and associated development toolchains
• Experience developing software for embedded systems
• Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)

Desired Skills:
• Experience with embedded real-time systems
• Experience with static analysis tools and dynamics analysis tools
• Experience with Systems Engineering processes (requirements development, use cases, data flows, etc.)
• Experience Integrating hardware and software
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket
• Experience with C#, Python, and/or PERL
• Experience working with safety/flight critical software development processes (e.g. MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, AC-17-01)
• Experience with automated test methodologies
• Experience with networking protocols (e.g. IP, UDP, RTP, etc.)
• Experience with Modeling and Simulation (including familiarity with MATLAB)
• Experience with Flight Control Laws
• Experience with Vehicle Management System (VMS) architectures
• Experience with Xilinx UltraScale+ SoC architecture
• Experience with hardware protocols (e.g. ARINC-429, RS-485, I2C, SPI, etc.)
• Ability to build/maintain relationships, collaborate with others, and manage interpersonal dynamics

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $98,800 – $186,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
