Minimum Qualifications:
Must reach his/her 21st birthday on the date of commissioning. High School Diploma/GED. Successfully Pass the U.S. Department of Justice Security Risk Assessment. Must pass Written Exam, Physical Agility, Polygraph, Psychological, Medical, Drug Screening, Oral Board Exam and thorough Background Check. Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.

To attend and satisfactorily complete a comprehensive training program with a police academy that meets or exceeds all standards set by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, TCOLE

Written test, PT test, and 16-week on-site academy attendance in Austin, TX.

TCOLE Certification Incentive Pay up to $1,620 annually

SPECIFIC JOB RELATED DUTIES:
- This position requires a thorough background check.
- Attends classes and maintains comprehensive notes of subject covered in classes.
- Prepares research papers.
- Participates in the physical training program, firearms training, defensive tactics program, and practical problems.
- Complies with assignments and instructions given by the Director of the University of Texas System Police or by any member of the Academy staff.
- Adheres to rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Prefer completion of 60 semester college hours. In lieu of 60 college hours, 30 semester college hours plus 2 years of active military service with honorable discharge, or 30 semester college hours plus 1 year of continuous employment as a Police Guard by a component institution within the University of Texas System Police.
