Business Development & Market Analytics Manager

You are effective at communicating timely and relevant information to business customers. You are passionate about natural resource management, including sustainable forestry.

This key position is part of the Portfolio Analytics and Business Development Team focused on expanding the customer base for the Timberlands and Wood Products businesses. This roleplays an important part in growing the company, will be responsible for sourcing creative ideas for growing our existing businesses and identifying potential alternative paths of growth that drive the most value back to every acre, while leveraging and contributing to the evolution of a best-in-class portfolio analytics technology platform.

Key Functions

  • Work directly with Director to develop strategic options for growing the company through business development and translate into executable actions,
  • Direct screening and management of high-quality customer pipeline
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and articulate WY’s value proposition
  • Provide analyses for financial and operational terms of customer agreements
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data analysis techniques to identify insights that guide strategic decisions
  • Identify and assess domestic and global market trends to support evaluation of business opportunities and strategy rationale
  • Play an instrumental role in evolving and designing new and innovative data analytics and visualization tools
  • Synthesize and communicate findings to a wide internal and external audience

Qualifications

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely and collaborate across diverse teams
  • 5+ years experience working in the forestry industry required, and knowledge of forest sector supply chain preferred
  • Experience in business development or data analytics required
  • Ability to build and cultivate strong, positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic and creative thinker with practical sound business judgment
  • Strong business acumen and active learner with a desire to understand all segments of our business
  • Results oriented with a bias for action

Highly Valued:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with quantitative emphasis such as resource economics, business, biology, forestry required

What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $101,567 to $152,351 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 15% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full time employees.
