Our client is seeking a highly motivated Paralegal to join their team in Lake Merry, FL. Our client is an industry leading, national product liability defense firm that represents some of the largest manufacturers in the world. The firm focuses on a laid back, diversity-focused culture. This is a full-time position with growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience in product liability defense, but other defense practice areas are accepted as well.
Pay Range: $70,000 – 80,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, edit and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements, and pleadings)
- Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case, including regular updates team members on the status of cases and quickly alerting attorneys to important client and case needs
- Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions, and issuing subpoenas
- Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms
- Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to ensure information is organized and easy to locate
- Prepare for trial, including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and issuing trial subpoenas, preparing and managing exhibits, and attending trial
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a law firm or legal department
- Experience in product liability and defense work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Associate degree in paralegal studies or equivalent work experience
