We are currently looking for a competitive, hands-on, consultative business development professional to promote innovative technologies via a new incubator-style business model. This individual has a track record as a high performer who excels in an innovative, dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role is accountable for promoting and growing cosmetic Actives and natural ingredients in the Beauty and Personal Care market throughout the U.S. and Canada.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose and set actions accordingly
  • Set goals to create effective market development plans that drive revenue growth for the targeted segments
  • Develop and implement overarching sales engagement strategy
  • Present and consult with internal leadership teams regarding market insights
  • Monitor, evaluate and share consumer and customer needs, trends, and insights
  • Identify, evaluate, and support cross-industry technology platform development
  • Continuously researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, industry events, presentations, and supplier training

COMMERCIAL

  • Work with the Sales, Marketing, Technical and Supplier Management teams to develop proposals that link ingredients to the customer’s marketing story and brand vision
  • Actively promote product lines by frequently meeting customers in person and virtually to develop new business
  • Support the Sales team in increasing conversion rates by initiating, developing, and driving new opportunities to closure
  • Develop targeted customer strategies to empower and give direction to Sales
  • Utilize influence management skills to motivate the team through joint calls, presentations, trainings, etc. to drive cosmetic Actives and naturals growth
  • Work with Univar Solutions’ internal functions to meet customer current needs, anticipate future needs, and achieve supplier growth targets
  • Engage and build rapport at all levels throughout customer organizations including the C-suite, marketing management and technical development
  • Serve as the internal expert for the cosmetic Actives and natural technologies you are responsible for promoting

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT

  • Owns the supplier marketing story, technical proposal, and sales promotion of the ingredients
  • Develop and execute strategies for portfolio management
  • Accountable for gathering and actioning voice of market
  • Prospect for potential new cosmetic Actives and naturals partnerships with supplier development team
  • Provide supplier management with voice of customer insights to negotiate appropriate costing for the market

MARKETING

  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, sales tools, trade show promotion, services and market channels that drive visibility and will lead to an increase in sales
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies and delegate tasks to achieve strategic goals

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Ideally Marketing, Business and/or Cosmetic Chemistry
  • 5+ years selling cosmetic Actives/naturals OR marketing/sales experience in Beauty & Personal Care with a strong passion for marketing ‘story’ ingredients
  • B2B Marketing experience
  • Solid understanding of the primary drivers of innovation in Beauty & Personal Care
  • Must be able to work with a high level of autonomy
  • Ability to build and leverage strong working relationships internally and externally across a diverse stakeholder network
  • A self-starter with an affinity for working in a fast-paced, innovative team environment
  • Be a visionary – you are expected to bring creativity and innovation to the team to improve performance and help the business evolve.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, Travel may vary in frequency and duration
  • Must have strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and of your colleagues, customers, and suppliers

PAY & BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is USD Min $135,710 – Max $223,930. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay. Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental. We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
