The Penguin Random House (PRH) Legal Department is seeking a recent law school graduate (0-3 years of experience) for a one-year, full-time fellowship with an anticipated start date of late summer 2023.
The Fellow will receive hands on mentoring and offered extensive networking opportunities. With a focus on First Amendment law and litigation, Fellows will be exposed to a wide range of legal disciplines, including: defamation, copyright, right of publicity, privacy, trademark, and commercial law.

Duties will include:
- Support litigation team by drafting letters and/or legal briefs.
- Review books for legal concerns and advise authors and editors on risk.
- Provide copyright advice to imprints.
- Draft contracts.
- Assist legal team in tackling the variety of challenges associated with being the world’s largest publisher of English language books.
Prior media law experience is a plus but is not required.
The salary range for this position is $75,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
The Legal Fellow position will work out of PRH’s New York Headquarters but the position offers remote flexibility.
