NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

Salary Range

$75,900 – $146,200

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a Project Controller for the W87-1 Cables Component PRT. This role will assume primary responsibility for project analysis, report development and communication associated with various project controls job duties, such as project baseline, work package agreements, cost control, cost estimation, earned value management (EVM), projections, variance analysis, schedules, change control management and implementation within P6. In addition, this role will also lead the development and implementation of the 7630 Portfolio reports for executive management.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Collaborate with the peer Project Manager(s) and Project Controllers.
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting of project status using project management tools such as Primavera P6.
  • Work with the project technical leads to execute project management activities including project plan development, project monitoring and control, and integrated change control.
  • Team with technical staff, project leads and managers to make recommendations to influence key decision makers within the scope of project controls (work breakdown structure, schedule, and budget/cost).
  • Research, assemble, and evaluate project information or data and recommend sound, practical solutions to project related issues.
  • Facilitate internal team communications and meetings.
  • Update the schedule status as required, produces reports, and tracks variances and recommends corrective action.
  • Analyze, prepare, validate, and maintain cost estimates, detailed baseline budgets, work package agreements, and monthly cost variance reports.
  • Lead scope change analysis, develop what-ifs and administer change control to schedule and budgets, ensuring that all changes are documented via the appropriate change control process.
  • Train other Project Controls team members.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus five years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience working in Project Controls; including Primavera P6, experience managing resource loaded schedules with Earned Value Management requirements.
  • Active DOE Q-level security clearance or DOD equivalent.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Knowledge of the Nuclear Weapons complex and product realization process.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience and familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling tool.
  • Experience and familiarity Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and methodology.
  • Ability to effectively team, communicate, and collaborate with technical staff, management, customers, and partners at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize and perform under strict deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Willing to take initiative, take ownership of job responsibilities, and make appropriate decisions to complete tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, facilitation, and decision analysis skills.

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
