Job Summary:
The School of Nursing (SoN) Academic Technology team has an open vacancy for Academic Technology (AT) Specialist that will be filled at AT Support Specialist (SJD) level, or AT Advanced Specialist level, depending on qualifications.
Successful finalist hired for this vacancy will work with SoN academic technology team, faculty, and staff to provide expertise, guidance, training, and/or support in effective use of academic technology, instructional design, and in development of multimedia course and training content across all for-credit degree and certificate programs in the School of Nursing.

Qualifications:
Required:
* 2+ years of FTE experience working in education or related field
* Excellent written communication skills that support collegial, inclusive work environment
* Familiarity with Canvas or other standard LMS used in higher-ed
* Demonstrated ability to function well and to participate actively and effectively in the work of a small, collaborative team and a range of diverse stakeholders
* Demonstrated reliability and trustworthiness appropriate for work with firm deadlines (start of the term) and instructional FERPA-protected educational records
Preferred:
* 4+ or more years of FTE experience working in education, with at least 1 year in higher education in academic technology or academic programs
* Graduate-degree in education, information/library science, communication, or closely related field, or in another field with demonstrated comparable on-the-job experience and training
* In-depth, practical knowledge of Canvas LMS in administrator role
* Experience developing and teaching courses in a principal instructor role in an accredited educational program

The person in this position may be provided with partial remote work flexibility as needed and approver by the supervisor. This position cannot be considered for a formal remote work agreement, due to the changing nature of our work during theacademic year.

The expected salary for this position starts at $55,000 for Specialist I, or $65,000 for Specialist II.

As part of the UW-Madison Health Care Component (HCC), all SoN faculty, staff, students, volunteers, and unpaid affiliates are required to complete HIPAA training as part of their orientation.
