The postdoc will join Computer Science Prof. Tien Nguyen as a research associate for his project that will continue to enhance the CISE research infrastructure called Boa to aid and assist with such research. Expected to work in research related to emerging research in this area.
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field with a strong focus on machine learning techniques and their applications to software.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in software development, such as Python, Java, C++, etc.
Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, deep learning architectures, and natural language processing techniques.
Experience with software engineering concepts, version control systems, and software development practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex ideas effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct cutting-edge research in the area of machine learning applied to code analysis, with an emphasis on code comprehension, bug detection, code generation, and performance optimization.
Design and implement novel machine learning models and algorithms to tackle complex challenges in code analysis and manipulation.
Explore and experiment with large-scale software repositories and datasets to extract meaningful insights and patterns.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate machine learning solutions into practical software engineering tools and workflows.
Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, contributing to the academic and industry communities.
Mentor and collaborate with graduate students, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
