Two positions for an hourly Shipping Line Loader within the Shipping Department are now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. The role will be responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities.
The wage for this role is $22.71/hour.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Accurately and safely loading all orders in a manner as to protect the product from damage while enroute to customers.
- Ensure that all products are completely wrapped and stickering is correct on bundles when loaded.
- Check for damage and
- Utilize scanner to track inventory.
- Visually check the loaded trailer and ensure the load is straight and not too high.
- Conduct pre-use inspection of Hyster.
- Ensure the load has proper securement before truck driver or rail driver can move load.
- Identify and report quality deficiencies or damages of product.
- Participate in initiatives such as safety functions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited agency/institution.
- At least one (1) year of experience as a forklift or Hyster operator in a manufacturing or distribution environment is required.
- Ability to meet objectives while working un-supervised.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to pass certification upon hire.
- Resume detailing education and work history required for consideration.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stoop, and bending.
- Must be willing to work any shift, including rotating shifts plus weekends and holidays as operating conditions require.
- Ability to work at heights, in adverse weather conditions, and in challenging physical positions without issue.
