Job Summary:
Responsible for the management of the daily operations of the Housekeeping department, to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction is maintained. This position will provide supervision of guest rooms, and direction for all housekeeping activities including scheduling, staffing, room inspections, training and development of employees. This person will also be responsible for the deep cleans, inventories, ordering and guest services. Reporting to the Director of Rooms.

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of productivity for all staff, which is monitored by the daily productivity report.
- Storage closets, common areas and guestroom cleanliness.
- Review guest satisfaction scores and address any issues that arise.
- Hold department meetings.
- Linen inventories at least x2 annually.
- Clear and organized inventory system.
- High level of accountability for training and standards
- Provides supervision and direction for all Housekeeping activities of the hotel to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained.
- Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
- Monitor occupancy daily and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
- Distribute and delegate work load to guarantee maximum production and guest satisfaction with minimum outlay of expenses in terms of labor and materials.
- Investigates complaints, evaluates corrective actions, and implements plan to resolve and de-escalate conflicts.
- Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping staff in details of work.
- Work directly with assistant executive housekeeper and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Adheres to department budget and looks for opportunity to increase profitability.
- Ensure orders are properly invoiced in a timely manner.
- Provide staffing, training, coaching and performance reviews for the housekeeping department.
- Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
- Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, decor, etc. Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of rehab projects.
- Develops strong working relationships with other department managers and directors to ensure communication and teamwork is at an optimum.
- Ensures the Housekeeping Department leads the charge in regard to recycling efforts and environmental initiatives.
- Performs any additional tasks or projects as required.
- Assist the Director and GM as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of resort housekeeping experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a guest service setting.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in English.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able stand for long periods of time and be able to access all areas of the resort.
Preferred:
- College degree in a Hospitality Management program.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with IQware
- Bi-lingual in Spanish.
The expected pay range is $60,000-$65,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
