Reporting to the Associate Vice President/ CIO , the IT Project Director is responsible for overall project management of the IT grants. Primary responsibilities include liaising with the grant donor(s) and Government Agencies; working with partners and vendors, overseeing project implementation; providing financial and administrative oversight; as well as the reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. This position will provide strategic IT grant leadership, project management, policy and administrative coordination in the development, management and implementation of a program of IT grants development, while working in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement to develop detailed and tactical plans for major IT grants for the institution. This position is accountable for developing and adhering to detailed project timelines and capturing milestones, leading the project team(s); and interpreting, refining and articulating all mission-related IT vision and program needs of individual units within the College that seek funding related to IT grant projects.

This is a temporary grant-funded position. Continued employment in this position is based upon grant funding.#ID23

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and allocating project resources, monitoring budgets, progress, and keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership in developing strategies to increase information technology related grants from foundations, corporations and government agencies.
  • Oversee all IT grant-seeking activities, including the coordination with IT leadership in the design and implementation of processes that maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of proposal development, submission, and tracking, as well as full project management and adherence to relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Work with CCP Grants administration to ensure compliance to all grant terms, conditions and regulations, timely submission of all reports and implementation of an internal risk management for grants compliance monitoring.
  • Assist the AVP / CIO in managing a comprehensive IT strategy for engaging Departments to advance the College’s vision as manifested in its strategic plan.
  • Participation in all College-wide grants advisory committee functions when required.
  • Collaborate with the AVP / CIO Information Technology Support Services, the Office of Business and Finance and the Office of Institutional Advancement to plan IT grant development activities.
  • Maintain a multi-year vision and detailed project plan.
  • Initiate and cultivate relationships with all CCP Department Heads, advising leaders in program implementation as needed.
  • Ensure submission of high quality and complete grant reports/updates.
  • Ensure all workflow, project responsibilities, and performance levels are achieved.
  • Deliver consistent high-quality customer service to both internal and external constituents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Any and all degree(s) must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.
  • Five (5) years of experience in project management related to the installation, configuration and maintenance of computer systems, network devices and servers required.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible IT management experience required.
  • Proven track record managing projects required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required, including capacity to develop enduring relationships with a diverse range of people, including high-level internal constituents and community leaders.
  • Exceptional ability to manage relationships and teams across institutional channels while being calm, sensitive and respectful with College faculty and staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • PMP , Six Sigma or other project management certifications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of grant compliance preferred.
  • Experience in a higher education setting preferred.
