Compensation
$65,000 – $90,000 annually DOE
Responsibilities
- Prepares drawings using CAD system from sketches, field measurements, and/or verbal instructions which include conceptual development, mechanical design, general arrangement, detail views, and construction layouts for plant projects; some drawings are self-generated in response to project requirements
- Works with vendors, contractors, and consulting engineers in the drawing development; checks contractor prepared and vendor prepared drawings for design intent and accuracy prior to fabrication and construction
- Functions as manager on selected procurement and construction projects; supervises contractor personnel in the execution of plans on prepared drawings
- Maintains orderly and complete engineering drawings, plant equipment, and vendor files; runs prints of drawings for plant personnel, contractors, and vendors as required; organizes and maintains microfilm records and index for plant drawings and files.
- Assists in field surveying as a Rodman or chainman, plots maps and inventories from field notes; performs volumetric calculations, and reports material inventory values to Laboratory and Statistician
Education
High school diploma
Requirements/Qualifications
- Proficient in using the CAD system
- Two plus years of drafting experience in the industry
- Trade school drafting or Associate degree
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA-regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
