Position Description:

As a Scrum coach, you will have the opportunity to work in a challenging

societal license to operate. A Scrum Coach is an Agile Coach that can assist specifically with the Scrum framework. A Scrum Coach is typically a bit between an Agile Coach and a Scrum Master.
This role is based in Houston, Texas.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The candidate embodies an agnostic agile mindset, experimental approach, applying the right mix of support and challenge that empower teams to continuously improve.
• Mentor product and teams as they transition to an Agile approach and new ways of working.
• Coaching teams to improve, innovate business performance and embed a continuous improvement environment.
• A consultant who is a good trainer, facilitator, influencer, motivator, communicator, collaborator.
• Coach cross-functional teams on optimising Agile ways of working, identifying waste, improving feedback loops.
• Contribute to our Agile Community of Practice (CoP) re: Lean-Agile principles and practices.
• A coach embedded with a cross functional team of product owners, project management, UX design, engineering managers and other internal stakeholders to facilitate outcomes of discovery and definition phases.
• Facilitate key Team of Teams events, retrospectives and workshops, e.g. Story mapping, value stream mapping, Scrum of Scrums, Product Alignment; ensure synchronisation between Team of Teams and Team-level agile cadence.
• Maintain a focus on Lean/ Kanban metrics, leading and lagging indicators (e.g. Percentile confidence of delivery, WIP aging, lead and cycle time).
• Raise visibility of Team of Team level impediments, risks and dependencies.
• Support or generate Agile project management reports (e.g. generate Jira queries, planned vs. earned value reports).
• Ensure psychological safety and an engaging space for team collaboration, learning and agility maturity assessments to bring about continuous and measurable improvements.
• Work closely with the platform vertical lead to ensure alignment between strategy and execution

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Minimum of 8 plus years of Scrum Master experience and Scrum coach experience is a must.

Lean Agile- Practices Ability to learn and deeply understand broad Lean and Agile principles. This includes Lean and Agile values, principles, methods, or frameworks (including but not limited to Scrum, Kanban, XP), as well as practices enabling appropriate application and innovation.

Facilitation- Ability to be a neutral process holder that guides the individual’s, team’s, or organization’s process of discovery, holding to their purpose, and definition of success.

Mentoring- Ability to impart one’s experience, knowledge and guidance to help grow another person, team, or organization in the same or similar knowledge domains.

Agile Teaching- Ability to offer the right knowledge, at the right time, taught in the right way, so that individuals, teams and organizations metabolize the knowledge for their best benefit.

Coaching -Ability to evaluate where people, teams, and organizations are in their Agile journey and offer the right approach to support growth. Professional coaching by asking the right questions, providing advice, challenging people in their thinking and guide them to identify their own solutions to problems. Build high performing programs by helping them embrace agility as a culture shift.

Transformation Ability to facilitate and catalyze organizational change and transformation to improve their ability to respond to change. This area draws on knowledge and experience of change management, organization culture, organization development, systems thinking, and other behavioral sciences.

Productization- Ability to apply business strategy and management frameworks to employ agile as a competitive business advantage to help organizations move further toward productization, including services. This includes Lean Start-Up, Business model canvas, product innovation techniques, flow-based business process management approaches, and other techniques that relate to innovating in the business domain.

Craftsmanship Ability to practice elements of end-to-end delivery of a product or service. This includes, but not limited to, ideation, design, development, testing, CI/CD, Azure DevOps. Ability to understand and properly utilize market standard tools used in the Agile space.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $84,000 – $181,800
