Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

HR Manager for USC Athletics . Serve as liaison to University HR and Payroll offices for a staff of 500 (300+ FTE’s) – assist and advise Athletics Director on personnel issues, provide direction and guidance to all athletics department staff members on HR issues including compensation, employee relations, benefits, employment, policies or payroll, working w/ all divisions of HR and Payroll as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge or experience with HR policies and procedures is strongly preferred; familiarity with State HR rules and regulations is beneficial.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Thorough knowledge of departmental and university policies and procedures, rules and regulations. Must be able to exercise judgement and discretion, maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships w/ others in the department as well as other offices on campus. Must be able to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
