We are looking for a forward-thinking and collaborative Tech and Cyber lawyer to join our small but mature Global Privacy team. As Tech & Cyber Counsel, you’ll report to our Senior Counsel for Privacy and Digital and have the opportunity to engage on interesting tech and cyber-related issues with close interaction with the MMC Tech and Cyber teams, at a global Fortune 200 stalwart.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the company’s compliance at the intersections of emerging technology and the law
  • Serve as a key specialist on new and emerging tech and cyber-related laws, helping identify them and working closely with the tech and cyber teams to assess and translate into actionable compliance
  • Assist with research, training, and leadership updates on key tech and cyber risks and developments
  • Assist with incident response
  • Assist with contract work related to tech and cyber issues
  • Maintain a familiarity with emerging technologies involving data in order to closely work with technical and big data teams

What you need to have:

  • BA/BS degree & JD degree
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in a corporate environment
  • Knowledge of U.S. and global data protection, technology and cyber laws
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with a focus on data protection, technology and security terms

  • Experience interacting with regulators and/or law enforcement authorities on issues relating to data protection, technology, cybersecurity and privacy
  • Good understanding of information technology systems and their security requirements
  • Any security or privacy certifications ( e.g ., CISSP or CIPP)
  • Experience handling data breaches

The applicable base salary range for this role is $112,200 to $224,300.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
