As the Senior Data Scientist – Marketplace Strategy and Analytics you’ll solve unique and challenging problems uses cutting edge machine learning techniques to develop data driven decisions work across the entire Marketplace business. You’ll collaborate and influence leaders across the Marketplace business while working alongside an engaged and forward-thinking team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Data Science, you’ll do hands on coding to develop machine learning models and lead your business partners in planning, executing, measuring and monitoring your models. This role is a great opportunity to show case your advanced data science skills to tell an authentic, compelling story and differentiate us as one of the top places to work.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if…

  • 5+ years’ experience in data science utilizing statistical methods, time series, and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience collaborating with partner teams to generate results that define organizational goals and KPIs.
  • Experience in end-to-end model development and deployment lifecycle i.e., from prototyping to model development and putting models into production
  • Strong experience with Python/R, forecasting methodologies, machine learning and statistics.
  • Experience with SQL and cloud technologies like Google BigQuery, Databricks, Presto etc.,
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Microsoft Power BI.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Consult across diverse teams such as strategy, seller acquisition, trust and safety, seller performance, and executives’ teams to analyze their business needs and translate them to an analytical/data science problem
  • Data preparation, wrangling and modeling to predict various outcomes using tools such as R/python, notebooks, SQL, scikit-learn, pandas etc.
  • Employ cutting edge data science, statistics, and machine learning models to influence metrics such as GMV, sellers, traffic, volume, and SKU performance to drive Marketplace strategic decisions.
  • Operationalizing the finalized models and deploying into production environments; monitoring model performance and making improvements to maintain model health.
  • Continuous monitoring and refinement for improvement of the model accuracy

The annual salary range for this position is $112,000.00-$192,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

– Stock equity incentives

Minimum Qualifications…

Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years’ experience in an analytics related field. Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years’ experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 – 5 years’ experience in an analytics or related field.
