Sr. Systems Architect

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a technical team leader supporting multiple programs reporting to the technical director. Candidate will work with multiple teams of full time and consultant developers and QA engineers to develop a set of systems utilizing technologies related to mobile device UI, data transfer services, back end software infrastructure, a reporting and analytics engine, and various parsers. Candidate will own the system design from initial implementation through long-term sustaining ownership, release, and will be responsible for keeping the applications current with periodic releases.

  • Drive systems design and development across multiple teams to create and maintain a holistic set of systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work & lead using agile methodology for all SW development with a view toward a quality product.
  • Must have the ability to manage a team to meet a committed release schedule
  • Must be able to lead and work effectively in small to medium sized teams (<10 core team individuals)
  • Conduct regular code reviews & provide assurance that all modules fit to proposed architecture & meet rigorous code review standards
  • Familiarity with and ability to implement test-driven-development methodologies
  • Commitment to long-term sustaining application ownership
  • Ability to conduct R&D and PoC’s
  • A desire to learn new technologies
  • Structured problem-solving methodology
  • Takes ownership of and ability to delegate assigned tasks with responsibilities. Institutes and participates in corrective actions to ensure closure / resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • >5 years leading application design on multiple development teams
  • 5-8 years’ experience in business application design and development
    1. Knowledge in OOPS Concepts (Object Oriented Programming Software)
    2. Extensive knowledge of Relational DB design
    3. 5+ years of experience in SQL/No-SQL (MongoDB or SQL Server or MySQL)
    4. Knowledge of User experience design best practices for business applications.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of Agile development concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
  • Able to provide examples of systems designed/developed
  • BS in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure DevOps & JIRA experience a plus
  • Experience with or demonstratable knowledge of big data and AI a plus
  • Mobile Design concepts

Salary and Benefits

CA San Francisco Bay Area – Salary Range for this position: $126,000- $270,000.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
