The Opportunity
Abt Associates is seeking a Project Management Analyst (PMA) to support projects within the International Development Division (IDD). You will provide administrative assistance and support the operational aspects of projects and serve as the liaison between support teams, technical teams, and line management. You are responsible for the day-to-day tactical duties for technical and non-technical programs. In addition, you will work directly with the management team, including Regional Vice President, Regional Management Partner and Regional business Development partner – supporting a variety of operational and technical support activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as region’s assigned timekeeper, monitors the subaccount, provides weekly follow up to teams, submits timesheets on behalf of staff that do not have access.
- Supports the resetting/archiving of project contract reviews.
- Support for regional meetings.
- Facilitate and/or coordinate activities of projects, including start up, day-to-day activities of the project including regular client and internal team meetings/communications, and close out.
- Analyze project financial performance with support from Project Financial Analyst and make recommendations to Project Director.
- Support development and review of client and internal reports and deliverables for accuracy and approval.
- Participate in the procurement process for vendor selection and vendor/subcontract/ consultant management and track progress.
- Identify hiring needs and support the hiring process with approval from Project Director.
- Create/review scopes of work for local nationals/short-term technical assistance/consultants/subcontracts.
- Identify risks and monitor the risk registry, escalate items as needed.
- Support compliance and audits and drafts responses.
- Participate in monthly Field/HQ calls, quarterly contract reviews and division/corporate meetings.
- Manage internal AGI/Knowledge Hub content and uploads.
- Support completion of annual workplans.
- Travel to provide technical support to project team as required, depending on international travel restrictions.
- This position may support business development, including conducting research or managing administrative aspects of proposal development.
What We Value
- Bachelor’s Degree + Two years of relevant experience, or master’s degree.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Attention to detail and great follow-up.
- Basics of risk management and documentation.
- Foundational understanding of procurement and budgeting processes.
- Foundational understanding of hiring process.
- Experience with Microsoft office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project locations overseas.
- Understanding of Portuguese or French is preferred but not required.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $56,000 to $79,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
