The Value-Add and Investment Marketing Team is responsible for working collaboratively with New York Life Investments’ practice management/advisor education platform, multi-boutique asset management firms, and the respective mutual fund, ETF, SMA, ESG, and alternatives business units. Working with these business partners, this team develops innovative advisor centric, and research based value-added business building programs, capital markets insights, and investor education designed to grow new and existing client relationships, increase visibility around our product platform, and build the firm’s brand as a thought leader in the financial services industry.

The Marketing Associate is responsible for the development and project management of marketing content needed to support ongoing initiatives around our value-add platform and investment-based promotional campaigns. The position requires experience in planning and executing marketing projects, managing digital marketing campaigns, analyzing qualitative and quantitative results-driven data to determine effectiveness of ongoing projects/ campaigns, and working collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. The Marketing Associate must be creative and demonstrate exceptional project management, communication, and relationship building skills. The individual will need to manage multiple projects, take direction, seek buy-in from key business partners, and drive projects to successful completion.

The Marketing Associate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving the creative and developmental processes of new marketing projects, campaigns, and materials across print, digital, and social formats.
  • Working with performance and digital marketing to analyze qualitative and quantitative results to determine effectiveness of ongoing projects/campaigns.
  • Brainstorming and developing new and creative programs, thought leadership, and investment education-related ideas.
  • Developing and implementing communications plans for all projects.
  • Creating and publishing content needed for email/social promotions, videos, blogs, and the company web site.
  • Working closely with business partners around the organization to ensure materials and communications meet partner objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Partnering with creative teams, other internal stakeholders, and external agencies and vendors.
  • Monitoring efficacy of materials and ongoing usage.
  • Increasing brand awareness of the firm’s value-add platform and market share.
  • Keeping informed of marketing strategies and trends.
  • Help to generate new business leads.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, or communications-related degree
  • Strong understanding of financial services, retail marketing, and the sales process
  • 3-5 years of tactical and strategic marketing communications experience within financial services
  • Strong foundational knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding
  • Superb communication; collaboration skills and ability to story tell, sell ideas, and influence others
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills, with an agile mindset and ability to pivot based on market environment and client demands
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for generating ideas designed to increase demand for platform/program services
  • Superior copywriting and communication skills
  • Effective time management and organization skills needed to plan and execute both large and small marketing projects and initiatives
  • Highly self-motivated; self-sufficient and team-oriented individual
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Prefered Series 6 or 7 FINRA license (or ability to obtain respective license within 12 months after start date)

Salary range: $72,500-$107,500
