The Role
Special situations analysts are a key part of Reorg’s editorial team. They have a comprehensive understanding of legal, regulatory and legislative processes, and are critical in helping us provide our subscribers with excellent reporting and analysis of special situations.
Repsonsibilities
- Provide day-to-day coverage of regulatory proceedings, rulemaking and legislative actions across a wide variety of cases, industries and jurisdictions.
- Report on developments on a short time frame and in accordance with Reorg Research’s style guide
- Assist with Reorg’s coverage of mergers and acquisitions including status of regulatory challenges and approvals
- Prepare long-form analysis of legal, regulatory, and legislative developments.
- Participate in teleconferences and meetings with subscribers seeking expert analysis
- Draft analysis of situations involving LRL coverage universe.
- Publish stories completely, on time, and correctly.
- Utilize Reorg legal editorial product, editorial workflow, and practices effectively.
Requirements
- Graduate with excellent academic record and 1-3 years experience as legislative or regulatory staffer, paralegal, or other legal or regulatory analysis experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A comprehensive understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoys creative problem-solving and looks to take on new challenges
- The willingness and ability to travel occasionally for hearings and other industry events
$70,000 – $75,000 a year
At Reorg, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.
The salary range estimate for this position is $70,000 – $75,000.
The actual compensation will be at Reorg’s sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an annual year-end performance bonus.
