Data Analyst, Pediatric Outpatient – Hybrid – Long Beach

Position Summary

The Data Analyst is responsible for preparing data, analyzing and tracking performance, and reporting biweekly and monthly workload information by work group. This role interacts with department leadership to understand needs and help provide data driven solutions.

Essential Job Outcomes & Functions

  • Organizes and analyzes the department’s data by month and prepares reports and graphs for directors, managers and staff. Maintains department data and files for department use.
  • Analyzes and tracks department performance.
  • Creates informational queries from pertinent databases for assistance in department process improvement or general operations.
  • Gathers workload data from applicable sub-departments and calculates department metrics on a biweekly and monthly basis. Prepares graphs of data and tracks workload, demand, or access by area on a daily basis during peak workload. Supports outcome study analysis by providing analysis and reports of data collections.
  • Works with the unit staff and leadership to maintain databases.
  • Reviews historical data and prepares comparison reports, budgets, or ad hoc data by sub-department as needed.
  • Completes interdepartmental charging in a timely and accurate manner as needed.
  • Engages in a positive and constructive manner with co-workers, and projects a professional image of the department in dress and behavior. Attends department education and training in-services. Participates in specific performance improvement projects as applicable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $28.89-$41.90

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years experience using financial, data mining, or related software programs with a demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving ability
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, and department specific skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to analyze data required
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Visio, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
