Design Technologist – IMDb, Creative Studio

You are an experienced Design Technologist who has successfully demonstrated taking business goals, prototyping interactive advertising experiences and turning them into inspiring world-class designs. You understand the complexity of advertising and know how to set the visual standard for different categories. You have strong organizational skills, web expertise and acute attention to detail.

You will work with a talented team of designers, program managers, and developers to launch campaigns for every major movie and TV studio.

Key job responsibilities

* Work on custom, experiential advertising campaigns on behalf of global entertainment partners.

* Create robust design tools that empower designers and design technologists to create best in class campaigns.

* Continued development of the IMDb advertising product portfolio, building scalable products that keep current with the perpetual evolution of the advertising industry.

* Own end-to-end development of functional prototypes to test hypothesis and demonstrate concepts to business partners, software development teams and senior leadership.

* Identify, source and evaluate hardware components and platforms against customer, product and business requirements.

* Rapidly build and iterate on prototypes of varying fidelity, that express design intent, using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task.

* Partner with Product Managers to develop vision, strategy, and technical requirements.

* Partner with operations, product and engineering teams to ensure prototypes address integration dependencies.

* Evaluate and document any new creative and/or engineering standards or patterns that could arise from your work.

* Be able to work creatively through and around perceived limitations and/or challenges imposed by the delivery platform to create delightful experiences for customers.

* Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to your immediate and extended team.

About the team

We are a technical UX team, that operates with a design studio mentality. Our culture is relaxed but professional. We enjoy each other’s company and value the diverse range of opinions and skillsets within our team. We partner regularly with Product and Engineering teams that comprise our organization. Our team is expanding our portfolio to support global advertising products on IMDb. We also support a suite of home-grown internal tools, designed and built within our team. These tools enable a broad range of critical campaign and creative processes within our broader organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience
  • Have an available online portfolio
  • Have coding samples in front end programming languages
  • Experience with web, mobile web, or mobile app front-end development
  • Experience with UI design for complex workflows and for end users

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of technologies such as JavaScript/NodeJS, HTML/CSS, Responsive/Adaptive Design
  • Knowledge of Python, Javascript, and source control (Git)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
