Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Admissions in the Morgridge College of Education (MCE) focuses on practices and processes intended to court and support prospective students through the inquiry and application process for programs in MCE. The position provides knowledge of best practices in creating and implementing enrollment management strategies. Oversees application review processes, primarily for MCE online programs, as well as certain on-campus programs, ensuring the admissions process runs smoothly for applicants and for faculty and staff. The Assistant Director is responsible for understanding and interpreting various types of data trends in order to create market-responsive strategies and to track closely the effectiveness of those strategies. The Assistant Director reviews processes, strategies, and tactics related to recruitment and application movement, and makes recommendations on best practices and strategies.
The Assistant Director uses a wide degree of creativity and latitude to design, implement, and manage e-communication campaigns throughout the admission funnel and measure and analyze the effectiveness of various communication tactics. The position ensures that prospective students receive excellent communication support from the point of first contact through matriculation, ensuring that connections are made to the appropriate departments, and working with departments to implement best practices in communications with prospective students. They maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues in MCE departments and with the University Office of Graduate Education and other areas across campus. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.
Essential Functions
Primary duties of the Assistant Director include:
ADMISSIONS AND RECRUITMENT MANAGEMENT
• Develop and implement e-communication plans specialized for each graduate program and for MCE as a whole.
• Manage the application review process for all MCE online programs offered by 2U, and possibly manage one on-campus program application process.
• Ensure effective advising and correspondence with MCE applicants in all departments and/or route queries to the appropriate MCE admissions staff member.
• Manage annual college admissions requirements update process.
• Manage and participate in recruitment events and enrollment activities.
• Advise on university admissions policies and procedures.
• Serve as project manager for recruitment projects across the college, such as the creation of print collateral, recruiting content creation and refreshes, applicant and incoming student online presence and communication, and other recruitment/yield initiatives.
• Serve as main point of contact and college expert for MCE faculty and staff regarding training, permissions, and reporting in the admissions tools within the CRM system (Slate).
• Represent MCE to various constituencies on campus, including members of the 2U partnership and the Office of Graduate Education.
DATA ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
• Understand past and present enrollment trends in order to discover patterns and effectively inform initiatives to respond to these trends.
• Serve as the main point of contact for other offices regarding CRM processes and development.
• Contribute to campus-wide Slate Users Group, and ensure training and access for faculty and staff in MCE.
STRATEGY
• Identify, recommend and implement process improvements as needed.
• Provide input and share ideas to identify and expand recruiting opportunities.
• Work with departments to implement best practices to track correspondence and measure outcomes.
• Acquire knowledge of industry practices and standards, and gather information as needed to evaluate and recommend new ways to attract/retain prospects.
• Understand target audiences in order to assist in effective development of recruitment initiatives.
MANAGEMENT
• Supervise graduate recruitment assistants and/or a team of student workers.
• Interview, hire, train, assign and review work, develop performance goals and assess performance.
• Provide direction and clarification, respond to questions, and inquiries from direct reports.
• Ensure that direct reports are prepared to communicate with prospective students with success and excellent customer service.
• Assign work schedules to ensure proper coverage for daily tasks and projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in higher education, admissions, student affairs, or other areas of education or non-profits.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, especially Slate.
• Background/education in P-20 education or other social sciences fields.
• Experience working in, or with, culturally and racially diverse environments.
• Project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree or graduate coursework.
• Familiarity with degree programs offered in MCE.
• Experience with content writing for recruiting initiatives.
• Admissions experience in a college or university setting, particularly in graduate admissions.
• Supervisory or management experience.
• Experience working with iBanner
• Knowledge of current best practices in graduate enrollment management, particularly in the fields represented in the programs of MCE

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Occasional evenings or weekend recruitment events may be required.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $57,000 – $65,000.
