Senior Attorney positions require a minimum of two (2) years of legal experience.

Preference will be given to applicants who have litigation experience.

The hiring salary begins at $63,612.00 and will be commensurate with level of experience.

This position is located in Tallahassee.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and either Westlaw or Lexis/Nexis legal research tools.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Litigation & Special Projects section represents the Department in a variety of administrative, civil, and appellate matters, conducts informal hearings, drafts agency final orders, and handles special projects as assigned by the General Counsel. Attorneys in this section will gain experience in federal and state civil litigation, appellate law, administrative law, public records law, employment law, and legislative bill analysis. The Litigation & Special Projects section works closely with and advises all 13 DFS divisions.
